Specter Off Road now offers a Speedi Sleeve to repair a parking brake drum with a grooved seal surface. If you can catch your fingernail on the groove where the seal rides, then you need Speedi Sleeve. Comes with installation tool and instructions.

Specter now offers a Parking Brake Shoe Replacement Kit. Now you can order everything one would need to replace old worn out oil soaked parking brake shoes with the convenience of ordering one part number. Kit contains parking brake shoes, clips, springs, adjuster, washer, pins, transfer seal, and dust boot.

Service Tip: Replacing Parking Brake Shoes
If you are changing your parking brake shoes because of oil saturation check the brake drum where the oil seal contacts the drum for grooves or scoring. If the seal needs replacing order #068-15. Also check for excessive play in the transfer output shaft. This play can cause damage to the seal and create new leaks. To remove the play in the output shaft you will need to re-shim the bearing pre-load (order parts #068-19 gasket and #070-33 shim set).
When replacing parking brake shoes you will need: #076-10 Dust Boot (qty 1), #076-23 Washer (qty 2), #076-26 Parking Brake Cable Clip (qty 1). On 1958-2/72 Land Cruisers you will also need: #076-05 Adjuster (qty 1), #076-20B Pin (qty 2), #076-22 Washer (qty 2). | |||||||||||||||||||||

This is a Parking Brake Kit for post 8/80 Land Cruiser models who are installing a 4 speed or 5 speed transmission with a split transfercase. Some FJ40 models require modification of the frame member. Kit includes a rear output shaft, parking brake drum, rear bearing retainer, retainer gasket, case gasket, transfer shim set, output bearing, output seal, parking brake drum nut, and parking brake cable clip. Kit does not include backing plate assembly, parking brake cable, parking brake shoes, and related parts, if you do not already have these items they will need to be ordered separately.
