Now Specter offers a Heavy Duty Stabilizer that fits in the factory location. This heavy duty stabilizer features large 35mm big bore with 50/50 hydraulic valving. Quick response stabilizer for on and off road performance. Great addition for those running oversize tires. Our stabilizers are supplied with rubber bushings as not to bind the steering stabilizer under maximum axle travel, like urethane bushings tend to do. Now you can upgrade to a heavy duty stabilizer at a savings over the factory unit.

These days most shock manufacturers sell the boots separately. Boots are optional, but highly recommended by SOR. Installing boots with your new shocks you will prolong the life of your shock by preventing rust build up on the chrome piston shaft which will damage or destroy the seal prematurely. Does your Land Cruiser wander all over the road? Do your tires catch lines in the road and follow them? Sounds like it may be time to rebuild your Center Arm Assembly. In order to check the condition of your Center Arm Assembly, have someone get inside the car and turn the steering wheel back and forth. While this is being done position yourself in front of the car and watch the movement of the Center Arm. The Center Arm should pivot on its own axis and not move side to side. If it does rock from side to side it must either be adjusted or rebuilt. Remember to grease the center arm prior to adjustment Please refer to your factory Toyota Chassis & Body manual for repair procedure. Specter Off-Road recommends that when rebuilding the Center Arm Assembly you also install a new steering stabilizer to prevent further wear.

The factory Land Cruiser steering system was designed mainly for off road use. That is the reason why FJ40, FJ45 and FJ55’s have a center arm assembly (aka - bell crank, idler arm, steering pivot). The center arm was designed to absorb the shock or energy from the vehicle hitting a rock or bump in the trail as not to beat up the steering box. So as the miles go on and on, the center arm takes all the abuse. Please refer to your factory Toyota Chassis Body manual for repair procedures.
