Mark's of Australia V-8 Adapter |

Mark's of Australia sells the newest type of V-8 Adapter. If you want to install a V-8 and plan on using the original Toyota transmission, this adapter is the way to go. Mark's Adapter mounts to the original Land Cruiser bell housing and keeps the transmission and transfercase in the stock position. By using the original bell housing the original rear motor mounts are still used, eliminating the need for a crossmember at the back of the transfer case typical to other V-8 conversions. This adapter eliminates the drive shaft length modifications, leaves the shifters in the stock positions, will also work with the 1958-9/71 vacuum shift transfer system, uses the original Toyota clutch hydraulics, fork, and pivot ball.
This adapter was originally designed for use on the Toyota 4 speed transmission and bellhousing. Use of this adapter on the Land Cruiser 3 speed requires relocating the passenger side bell housing mount 1 inch higher on the housing, for front driveshaft clearance. The kit includes the alloy bell housing release bearing, front motor mounts and clutch cover plate. The Mark's V-8 Adapter will adapt GM and Ford V-8 engines (Ford adapter is special order, call for details).
