If your installing a winch on your Cruiser and plan to put it to the test, it is advised that you install dual batteries. This heavy gauge steel SOR Dual Battery Box is designed to hold two batteries securely. Inside dimensions are 22 3/4 inches x 7 1/8 inches. It mounts on the stock battery box platform. The 40 Series requires relocation of charcoal canister. 1/75 & Later requires minor relocation of clutch hose. Black powder coated finish. Fits all 40 Series.

Do you own a custom Cruiser and want to relocate the battery? Do you have a V-8 and nowhere to put the battery? This Aluminum Battery Box is well suited for relocating the battery under the hood or even into the driver compartment. This Aluminum Battery Box is NHRA approved for installation of a battery in the driver compartment of a race vehicle because of the secure mounting and the box can be vented outside the passenger compartment. The Aluminum Battery Box is made in three separate pieces, base, sides and top, it is designed to allow access to the battery without removing it from the hold down. The Box is 13 1/2 inches long, 9 1/2 inches wide, 10 inches high and is constructed of .040 inches thick aluminum. The Battery Box includes one-piece welded battery hold down and 3/8 inches hardware to mount the battery. This Aluminum Battery Box can be purchased with or with out a cable kit. The cable kit has 18 feet of 2 gauge positive cable and 18 inches of 2 gauge negative cable.

The Super Smart Battery Tender Plus is a low power battery charger designed to constantly maintain a battery at peak condition. It is perfect for keeping a battery charged in a vehicle that is not driven regularly, or for maintaining a backup battery out of a vehicle. This is a very advanced charger that works differently than a normal trickle charger. The Super Smart Battery Tender Plus is a 1.25 amp charger that automatically switches from full charge mode to a float charge mode while monitoring the battery condition. In float charging mode the charger output is just 10ma (virtually no current) at 13.2 volts. This low voltage is below the point where the battery will out-gas. Standard trickle chargers, left unattended, will keep charging at over 15 volts causing the battery to out-gas and boil away the electrolyte, damaging the battery. It can remain attached to your battery for unlimited lengths of time with no fear of boiling or overcharging. It is acceptable for either lead acid or gel cell types of batteries.
BATTERY CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Q) How is the SUPERSMART BATTERY TENDER PLUS different from a trickle charger?
A) The BATTERY TENDER PLUS is a 1.25 amp battery charger that automatically switches From full charge to a float charging mode and then monitors the battery. When the battery is accepting only 0.5 amps the BATTERY TENDER PLUS switches into a float charging mode. At this point both the current and voltage of the BATTERY TENDER PLUS decrease. The current drops to 10 ma (virtually no current) and the voltage to 13.2). The gassing point of a battery is 13.8 volts thererore applying any voltage greater than 13.8 For an extended period of time will damage the battery. Trickle chargers decrease current but increase voltage to upwards of 15.5 volts and continue the excessive gassing action that is most detrimental to the life of batteries.
