Ordering & Warranty Policies

Warranty Policy

All parts are guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship by the original equipment manufacturer or by Specter Off-Road, Inc. for a period of 90 days. The warranty period starts from the date of purchase not the date of installation. WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO REPLACEMENT OF PART ONLY-NO REFUNDS! Warranty does not cover labor, failure to related components, failure resulting from faulty installation nor will the liability of Specter Off-Road, Inc. exceed the cost of the original part. If you have a problem with any item from Specter Off-Road, Inc. please call or write us with full explanation. Please provide copy of original invoice and include your daytime phone number we will be happy to contact you and advise you how to handle the warranty. No return on any electrical parts. No return on any used parts. No return on Repair or Technical manuals. No return on any installed, painted or modified parts. No return on any special ordered part including special ordered factory replacement parts. All returns are subject to a 20% re-handling charge. Return authorization is required for all returns and/or exchanges to be accepted. See back of invoice for full detailed return information. No COD returns will be accepted. Specter does not pay freight charges.


Privacy Policy

At Specter Off-Road, Inc., we are committed to protecting your privacy. Below you will find our policies with regard to the information you supply us.

  • Name & Address Information - We only use this information to successfully process your order. Specter Off-Road™ DOES NOT sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.
  • Charge card Information - We do not keep your charge card information on file. You must supply this info for each order whether over the phone or the Internet. Email Address - If you have purchased from us via our On-line Catalog your email address is only used to confirm your order and then again to inform you that your order has been shipped, providing you with a tracking number if applicable. We DO NOT bulk email you with specials or advertisements. Specter Off-Road™ DOES NOT sell, trade or rent your email address or personal information to others. The personal information we collect from you is only used to process your order. We are in the business of selling Land Cruiser Parts & Accessories not customer demographics.
  • Secure Server - For those of you who use our Internet site for your purchases, Specter Off-Road™ has a VeriSign Secure Server ID. All information sent to this site, if in an SSL session, is encrypted, protecting against disclosure to third parties.

Product & Price Changes

Specter Off-Road, Inc. is constantly adding new items to our line of Toyota Land Cruiser parts and accessories. Specter reserves the right to change the design, materials, specifications, or supplier of any product advertised in this catalog. Specter Off-Road™ strives to provide you with the best quality parts at the best possible price. Price increases are subject to change without notice. All efforts are made to keep prices current, but it is not possible to keep the printed prices in our catalogs and flyers up to date. If you need current price information or quotes please check our Web Site at sor.com or call Specter's sales staff and we will be more than happy to quote current prices.


Resale Accounts

Specter Off-Road, Inc. requires a current signed original resale certificate on file at the time of the sale to not charge California sales tax. When placing your order be sure to mention that you have a resale certificate on file. Please do not assume that the sales person will know that this sale should be a nontaxable sale. This will help your order be shipped promptly and billed correctly. No COD's. Sales tax will not be refunded if a resale certificate is received after an order has been shipped. How To Pay - Domestic Orders

CREDIT CARD ORDERS - Please give card number, card holder's name & billing address and expiration date. First Time customer orders can only be shipped to the billing address of the charge card owner-No exceptions. PREPAID ORDERS - Cashier's Check - Money Order - Bank Wire - NO PERSONAL or COMPANY CHECKS. To process your order as quick as possible: Fill out your order form completely. Any information that is missing at the time of the order will only delay your shipment. If we have to call you back because of missing or incorrect information you will be charged for the call! Also supply us with a phone number where you can be reached during our business day (9am-6pm PST). If you are paying by credit card make sure you supply the correct card number, expiration date, security code, card holder's name & billing address in order to verify that the charge card is valid. First Time customer orders can only be shipped to the billing address of the charge card owner-No exceptions. If you are paying by Cashier's Check or Money Order be sure to send in extra for freight and handling. We do not ship C.O.D. If you have questions in regards to freight amounts please call (818)882-1238 and ask for assistance. Please supply the production date, frame number and engine number of the vehicle so we can supply you with the correct part you need. Also let us know if there are any modifications to your vehicle such as V-8 conversion, power steering, etc.


International Orders, Canadian Orders, APO & FPO Orders

Foreign Customers please request information on overseas shipments, current prices, payment, and best shipping methods. Canadian Customers please provide full address and day time phone number with your order. Specter Off-Road™ ships international orders via UPS, Fedex, Air Parcel Post or BAX AIR please be sure to request which means of shipment you desire. International Orders cannot be shipped COD. International orders require prepayment by Bank Wire. Please check locally for estimated freight charges before ordering. All duties and freight charges are paid by customer. All foreign orders are subject to additional export fees. FPO/APO customers please provide full address and phone number if possible. All APO/FPO orders must be prepaid including freight charges. APO/FPO orders must be shipped via parcel post. Please request information on freight charges for your order. New foreign accounts require a prepayment by Bank Wire in USA Dollars.


Shipping & Handling

Specter Off-Road™ takes pride in filling your Land Cruiser orders promptly and correctly. Of course this takes time and man power. Everyone at Specter strives to process your orders quickly and correctly. Each order processed will have a $5.00 (U.S.) handling fee per box shipped which is included in the freight charges. Your order can be shipped by the following ways:

  • UPS GROUND SERVICE - Continental US (except Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico)
  • FED EX GROUND SERVICE - Continental US Residential delivery only (except Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico)
  • UPS (1-DAY DELIVERY) - USA including Hawaii, Alaska & Puerto Rico (signature required upon delivery)
  • UPS (2-DAY DELIVERY) - USA including Hawaii, Alaska & Puerto Rico (signature required upon delivery)
  • UPS 3-DAY SERVICE - Not Available in California Continental USA only (signature required upon delivery)
  • FED-EX INTERNATIONAL AIR - Outside USA. Orders shipped outside the USA have additional export fees.
  • AIR PARCEL POST - Parcel Post orders are shipped only once a week (this will cause your order to be delayed) *Specter Off-Road, Inc. is not responsible for Parcel Post Shipments*
  • TRUCK - See below for Truck order information. A $5.00 fee will be charged for all incorrect or incomplete addresses on all UPS or FedEx orders.

Truck Orders

Specter ships items that are too large for UPS or Fed Ex by contracting the delivery with a freight carrying company. Specter Off Road usually makes all the shipping arrangements with the freight companies. We will get a freight quote on a shipment and we require a customer to approve the freight cost prior to SOR shipping the order. If the order contains USED Parts SOR requires approval of digital photos prior to shipping. The freight charges will be added to the order and charged prior to the order being shipped. Specter charges $10.00 to process the paperwork for a truck freight shipment. Allow at least 10 to 14 days for truck freight deliveries. If you receive a truck shipment that appears damaged or missing items, inspect the freight immediately and note the damage on the waybill and have the driver sign it before he leaves. Then call the freight company and report the claim immediately. Failure to report the damage upon delivery will limit your ability to recover the cost of the damage from the freight company. Specter does not pay for freight damage. Retain the copies of the invoice and the waybill.


Ordering Information

Specter's dedicated, non-commission sales people are ready to take your phone orders. We want to be able to process your orders as quickly and correctly as possible. Please be prepared with your parts order before you call. Please have complete information ready for sales person (page/part numbers, year and month of production, or frame number, charge card numbers). Please fill out order form before calling. This will help us take your phone orders quickly and correctly. Sorry no collect calls will be accepted. Please double check your shipping address. Address correction fees charged by the shipping company are the responsibility of the customer and will be back charged to the customer. If you are shipping to a business address we need the business name to avoid an address correction charge. There is no minimum order amount, however please note that the minimum freight charges have increased for both UPS and FED EX. Most items ship by dimensional weight and these rates are higher than many customers expect. We do not accept COD's. Please be ready for delivery. Please provide daytime phone number and address where someone will be able to accept a delivery during normal delivery hours (9 AM to 6 PM). All shipments require an adult signature.


Orders Processed

We try to process orders as promptly as possible. Most UPS orders are processed within 24-72 hours. UPS or FedEx cannot be shipped to a P.O. Box. Please provide a physical street address for delivery. Cut off time for Air Service (1 and 2 day Air Service) is 12:00 PST noon Monday thru Friday. Air shipments require payment by charge card, Visa, MasterCard and Discover or AMEX. No COD orders. Parcel Post orders are shipped once a week. Truck orders are bulked together for pick up to save single pick up charges. Please allow time for Used Parts orders to be pulled and inspected to guarantee you top quality used parts.


Body Panels, Sheet Metal & Fiberglass Parts

New sheet metal parts, and fiberglass parts such as fenders, hoods and other body sections need to be test fit to the vehicle prior to sending the parts for paint and body work. It is industry standard that new parts such as these have to be fitted to the vehicle first before the finish is applied to these parts. SOR will not be responsible for paint and body work.


Used Parts Ordering

Specter Off-Road™ stocks & supplies a very extensive inventory of top quality "USED" & "TEST" parts. Our vast inventory includes many hard to find parts for those of you doing complete restorations as well as all the normal maintenance items needed to keep your Land Cruiser in dependable running condition. We carry everything from the smallest clips & miscellaneous hardware to the largest body panel for your Cruiser. We do not sell "used" hydraulic components such as master cylinders, wheel cylinders, water pumps, steering box, clutch pressure plates, clutch disc, clutch bearings. All parts are stored indoors, not outside in piles like some wrecking yards. All parts are cleaned & inspected for our quality standards. Differentials, transmissions & drive shafts are checked for excessive play & broken bearings. However, sometimes problems with these components can not be determined until they are in use. So we strongly suggest that if you are concerned about "down time" with your car or labor costs, you consider purchase of a new unit instead of a used part. Most of our parts are low mileage parts. We provide a 90 day warranty on all used parts (except electrical). However, in the unlikely event that you receive a faulty part, you must notify us by phone & inform us of the problem. As with our policy on new parts, you will be issued a RA number for return shipment to us. Upon receipt of the part we will then exchange it for another used unit, or if you prefer, apply the price to a new unit. This 90 day warranty applies to the performance of the part itself & does not cover incorrect application. Warranty is limited to replacement of unit only and excludes labor and incidental costs. When ordering "used" parts it's best to call our order lines to check stock at the time you need the part, our turn over on used parts is very frequent. Thank you for your business, we look forward to providing you with top quality parts & service! If you are ordering used parts please understand that all used parts shown are not always in stock. Please state if new parts can be substituted when a used part is not available.


Special Order Parts (SOP) & Clearance Parts

All special order parts require prepayment (all foreign orders for special order parts require a prepayment by Bank Wire in USA Dollars). Clearance parts are limited to quantities on hand. Special order parts & clearance parts cannot be returned. Special order parts can not be canceled.


Damaged Merchandise & Shortages

Damaged merchandise or shortages must be reported to Specter Off-Road™ immediately upon arrival of shipment. All orders shipped from Specter Off-Road™ are fully insured. When a order leaves our shipping dock the responsibility is covered by the carrier. If damage occurs during shipment it is the customer's responsibility to handle the damage merchandise in the following manner. UPS & FED EX Shipments: If there is visible damage to box or package be sure to note on the UPS delivery persons ledger when you sign for delivery. Check the contents, if there is damaged or missing parts contact Specter Off-Road™ immediately. Delay in reporting damage or missing parts can limit your ability to recover these parts. Be sure to retain all shipping containers and all packing material for the shipper's inspection. Truck Shipments: If you receive a truck shipment with a damage or shortage have truck driver note damage and sign truck delivery bill at the time of delivery. Call carrier to report claim immediately. Retain all copies of bill of lading and invoice. Be sure to retain all shipping containers and all packing material for the shipper's inspection and contact Specter Off-Road™ as soon as possible.


Return Policy

Should you wish to return any item for any reason, including cores, these guidelines must be followed:

  • No return shipments will be accepted without a RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER (RA #). To obtain this number you must have a copy of your invoice. With this in hand, contact Specter off-Road, Inc. at (818) 882-2365.
  • The RA NUMBER MUST BE PLACED ON EVERY PACKAGE BEING RETURNED TO SPECTER OFF-ROAD, INC. IT MUST BE CLEARLY VISIBLE OR THE PACKAGE WILL BE REFUSED. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • All returns must be made within 30 days of invoice date.
  • All returns are subject to a 20% re-handling fee.
  • NO RETURNS on electrical parts.
  • NO RETURNS on books and manuals.
  • NO RETURNS on used or installed parts.
  • NO RETURNS on special order merchandise.
  • NO RETURNS on clearance parts.
  • The Return Authorization form must be filled out completely in order to be processed.
  • All returns must be shipped freight prepaid NO C.O.D.'s.
  • Orders returned as refused will be subject to a 20% re-handling fee.
  • All returns must be carefully boxed. You are responsible for all damages. We suggest you insure your return for the value of the parts in case it is lost or damaged by the carrier.
  • Return Authorization numbers will only be honored for 15 days after being issued.
  • Refunds on returns within 30 days will be made by the original method of payment. Refunds on returns after 30 days will be made by Giftcard.
