Land Cruiser Identification—VIN

Back to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

How To Find Your VIN, Engine Number, Production Date & Model Number

The following information focuses primarily on vehicles originally sold in the USA. Identification tags can still be found on Non-USA models but the location of the tag varies by model. To help identify your vehicle, a visual reference of Land Cruiser body styles can be found on our Model Identification page.

To determine the correct part number you need, it may be necessary to know the VIN, engine number, production date and/or model number of your Land Cruiser. The production date and VIN is printed on the Vehicle Identification Tag. This tag is either an aluminum plate or sticker located in one of three places, on the driver's door or door jam, under the hood on the fire wall or on the inner passenger fender. 1958-1967 models were not required to have the production date stamped on the I.D. plate. Please provide full frame number when you order parts to assure correct information (not registered year).
