| SOR 2 Piece Silver Ceramic Coated Headers are built exclusively for Specter Off-Road in the USA. These top quality headers are designed to fit right! Made from Ceramic Coated Steel to resist corrosion. Requires SOR Stainless Steel Header Pipe for installation see part #324-410. Complete your exhaust system head to tail by including the SOR Muffler and Tail Pipe Kit, see part numbers 046-06B-KIT or 324-740 depending on your FJ40 production date. Your new SOR Silver Ceramic Header comes with a Kevlar Header Gasket but fresh new manifold stud hardware kit will help the job go smoothly, see part #044-02. |

Dyno Test (click for large picture) We installed these headers on a 2F engine in an FJ40 without emission controls and tested the vehicle on a chassis dynamometer. The difference between the stock Toyota exhaust and the SOR Silver Ceramic Coated Headers was a maximum increase of 16.6% in horsepower and 7.9% in torque. Your engine's performance change may be different. Header specifications: Primary tubes are 1 5/16 inch inside diameter. The primary tube average length is 33 inches. The collectors are 2 1/16 inch inside diameter. The two piece Tri-Y design eliminates header warping, allows for frame flex and the slip fit exhaust connections eliminate exhaust flange gasket leaks. Header comes with band type clamps that do not deform the pipe. These clamps make for easy removal and replacement for engine or clutch service.

SOR Header Pipes are used to adapt the SOR 2 Piece Headers to the single stock exhaust system. SOR Header Pipes are designed to run above the skid plate for better protection and ground clearance.
1969 to 1974 FJ40: SOR Header Pipe allows a bolt together connection to the factory muffler system.
1975 to 1978 FJ40: Specter recommends updating the entire muffler and tail pipe assembly to a more free flowing system. Specter offers a complete bolt on system you can install in your own driveway at a fraction of a muffler shop's price, click for listing.
